Biography
Bethany Huang is a pianist from Southern California and a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, with Bachelors in Music and Political Science.
Since debuting at the Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall in 2015, she has received multiple awards such as MTAC Panel Honors (2015) and performing at the annual MTAC State Convention (2015). She also received 3rd prize at the Los Angeles Liszt Piano Competition, and in 2019 was a Prize Winner at the Glendale Piano Competition. She has collaborated with many orchestras such as the Slovak State Opera Chamber Orchestra and Vicente Chamber Orchestra. She performed in the Bratislava Hall of Mirrors and Zichy Palace, where the famed Franz Liszt has also debuted. In 2020, Bethany performed as an exhibitor guest for the Pearl River Piano Group at the National Association of Music Merchants Show, and was named an Orange County Register Artist of the Year semifinalist. Bethany has also appeared on the 2020 Graduate Together Show, hosted by Lebron James and featuring appearances from President Barack Obama. She has also been featured on news networks such as CBS and KCAL-9. Bethany has also received master classes with Maestro William Grant Naboré and Maestro Alessandro Deljavan. Her previous teacher includes Ethan Yi Dong at the Opus 119 Conservatory of Music and Professor Nina Scolnik of UCI. Experienced in government, nonprofit, and political advocacy, Bethany is currently at The Heritage Foundation's Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, where she conducts research on key constitutional issues like equal protection, race and the courts, and 2nd amendment court challenges. Notably, Bethany is the youngest candidate to run for the Irvine Unified School District Board of Education, championing transparency and parental choice in their child's education. |
